What Auteur does
A writer uploads a screenplay, pays, and receives a full professional coverage report by email in about ten minutes. Traditional coverage from a human reader usually costs $100 to $300 per script and takes one to two weeks.
Auteur’s reports are generated by AI. Auteur does not sell human-written coverage.

Auteur is built by working screenwriters and professional script readers, on decades of professional coverage experience. The team has written coverage for studios, production companies and management companies, and for paid coverage services.
Auteur is trained on thousands of professional coverage reports and scripts. Every read works from more than 8,000 words of instructions developed with working screenwriters and professional readers.

How a read works
- Auteur reads the whole script, page one to the end, not a summary of it.
- Every script is read twice: after the report is written, Auteur reads the script again and checks the report against it for understanding and accuracy before delivery.
- Every delivered report goes through an independent grading pass against Auteur’s written coverage standards.
Rewrite reads
When a writer submits a new draft, Rewrite Coverage reads it alongside every earlier Auteur report on that script. It credits the notes the new draft addressed, raises again the ones that still stand, checks “now fixed” claims against the new pages, and then covers what’s new. The ratings grid marks where each category sat on the previous draft.
Privacy
- The uploaded script is deleted once the coverage job is finished.
- Scripts are never used to train AI models.
- The finished report is kept for twelve months so the writer can re-download it, and can be deleted sooner on request. Full details are in the privacy policy.
