Auteur (“Auteur,” “we,” “us”) is a screenplay-coverage service operated by NightBlue Digital LLC. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to auteurcoverage.com and the coverage application at app.auteurcoverage.com.

Information we collect

We collect only what we need to deliver coverage:

  • Your email address, so we can deliver your coverage report and send order-related messages.
  • The script you upload (a PDF), which we process to generate your coverage report.
  • Payment information, which is collected and processed directly by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.
  • Basic usage data (pages visited, referrer, and similar analytics), collected through PostHog to understand how the site is used.

How we use your information

We use your information to generate and deliver your coverage report, process your payment, respond to support requests, and maintain and improve the service. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your uploaded script to train AI models.

Your scripts

Your script is confidential. When you upload it, we extract its text to generate your coverage and then delete the uploaded file immediately — we do not keep your screenplay on our servers. Its text is processed by our AI provider (Anthropic) solely to produce your report, and is never used to train AI models. Your finished coverage report is retained so that you can re-download it.

Service providers

We share information with a small set of vendors strictly to operate the service:

  • Anthropic— AI processing used to generate your coverage. Content sent through Anthropic’s API is not used to train its models.
  • Stripe — payment processing.
  • Resend and Google Workspace — email delivery.
  • PostHog — product analytics.
  • Vercel and Replit — website and application hosting.

Cookies and analytics

We use PostHog to collect basic, privacy-conscious analytics such as page views and referral sources. This helps us understand traffic and improve the site. We do not send your email address, your script, or its contents to our analytics provider.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR and CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To make a request, email us at coverage@auteurcoverage.com. We will respond within a reasonable time.

Data security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your data safe and to limit how long we keep it.

Children

Auteur is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date above.
